About Dr. Youn

Dear Esteemed Patients,

In 1987, I graduated from the Department of Korean Medicine at Kyung Hee University and began volunteering in remote mountainous areas through the Saam Acupuncture Research Society under the guidance of Master Dr. Kim Hong-kyung. While practicing at Shin Nong Baekcho Korean Medicine Clinic, I decided to join the wave of chiropractic care emerging among Korean medicine practitioners in Korea in 1992. Receiving teachings from chiropractors who came from the United States, I made the decision to study abroad in the United States.

In 1995, I had the honor of enrolling at the Dallas Parker Chiropractic College, where my life as a practitioner solely focused on acupuncture and herbal medicine underwent a significant transformation. As I attended various conferences and societies in Dallas, I realized that fields such as neurology, applied kinesiology, and nutrition were deeply intertwined with chiropractic care.

Starting from 2000, I began traveling to Korea every month to deliver lectures to Western and Korean medical doctors at places such as the Catholic Medical Center, Sejong Cultural Center, Kyung Hee University Auditorium, and COEX Seminar Room. Initially, the lectures focused on functional medicine, primarily covering topics such as omega-3, coenzyme Q10, and probiotics. Looking back, the materials from that time still feel fresh and relevant.

Thanks to the enthusiastic response from medical professionals, I was able to deliver various lectures, including chiropractic neurology, applied kinesiology, and chiropractic care, during my visits to Korea.

Eventually, as my life in Korea became more established, in 2006, I established a collaborative clinic with an orthopedic surgeon near Seolleung Station in Gangnam. Introducing a new treatment system inspired by my experiences in the United States, I have been providing care to Korean patients while continuing to deliver lectures at conferences.

Over time, I earned my master's and doctoral degrees, received appointments as a visiting professor, and served as the president of the Korean Functional Medicine and Nutrition Association(KFMNA), sharing new medical information with western medical and Korean medical doctors.

In my research on neurology, I delved deeply into brain function, specializing particularly in the treatment of chronic dizziness and tinnitus through Bing Bing Korean Medicine Clinic.

Recently, after obtaining certification as a musculoskeletal ultrasound examiner in the United States, I have been using ultrasound to diagnose chronic pain in the spine and joints, especially in the neck, lower back, pelvis, shoulders, and knees, and to administer acupuncture treatment with help of diagnostic ultrasound.

It is undoubtedly an excellent form of treatment, although in the United States, acupuncturists are not allowed to administer Herb-acupuncture injection, so I am committed to utilizing various acupuncture treatments using ultrasound to provide optimal pain care.

I am determined to provide the best care in Dallas.
